The Lebanese Army on Saturday warned citizens against engaging in protests or activities that could threaten national security, citing ongoing Israeli violations and what it described as a “delicate” security situation in the country.
In a statement, the Army Command said individuals had recently used social media to call for demonstrations and share fabricated video clips aimed at sowing tensions.
“The Army Command warns citizens against endangering the country’s security through actions whose consequences have not been carefully considered,” the statement read.
While reaffirming its respect for the right to peaceful and orderly freedom of expression, the army stressed it would not permit any breach of security, disturbance of civil peace, road blockages, or attacks on public and private property.
It urged all citizens and political groups to act responsibly during what it called a “critical period,” underscoring the importance of unity and solidarity “to overcome the dangers threatening our nation.”
