Child Remains from 1800 BC Excavated in Baalbeck
The Ministry of Culture issued a statement on Friday to clarify inaccurate circulated reports of a child’s remains found in Baalbeck’s Temple of Jupiter.
A German delegation, under the supervision of the ministry’s Directorate General of Antiquities, excavated the child’s bones which the ministry estimates to belong to 1800 B.C., also known as the Intermediate Bronze Age.
Reports claimed on Thursday that the unearthed bones date back to 7,200 B.C. while the ministry noted that the information are not true and that the relics are yet to be examined to determine their precise age.
