Brazil Thrashes India 4-0 in Friendly Match

Samuel Lino scored his first two goals for Brazil as India's desperate attempts to hold off the five-time world champions faded after a strong start, paving the way for the visitors to secure a comfortable 4-0 victory in a friendly match on Saturday.

Estivao, Chelsea's winger, scored Brazil's first goal and assisted Pedro's goal before Lino netted a brace in the second half, leading coach Carlo Ancelotti's squad to finish their tour in Australia and India with two wins and one draw.

Ancelotti, who continued to experiment with several players during the three friendly matches, made eight changes compared to the lineup that won 4-2 against Australia last Tuesday, relying only on the continuity of Vinicius Junior, Danilo, and Gabriel Pontembo.

India's strategy of leaving Vinicius unmarked on the left side and trying to catch him offside had some early success, as the team relied on a defensive block with a compact midfield to restrict Brazil's attacks, while directing long balls towards the lone striker Manvir Singh.

However, Estivao opened the scoring in the 28th minute when he cut in from the right to unleash a left-footed shot into the near corner, before assisting the second goal with a decisive pass that pierced the defense, which Pedro successfully finished into the net.

Pedro set up the ball for Samuel Lino to score the third goal near the 60th minute, before the 26-year-old Flamengo winger dribbled past two defenders to extend the lead to 4-0 just before the end of the match, amid great enthusiasm and support from 51,000 fans at Salt Lake Stadium for the visitors, just as they cheered for the hosts.

India, ranked 138th in the world, lamented missed opportunities as Manvir and Ryan Williams failed to score a consolation goal, extending the team's winless streak to six matches in a row.
