Lebanese authorities are intensifying a judicial investigation into a major scandal involving the smuggling of counterfeit medications, including drugs intended for cancer patients, through Beirut’s Rafik Hariri International Airport. Lebanon Abolishes Arbitrary Security Memos Linked to Syrian-Era Practices

The Lebanese government has officially put an end to the use of so-called “contact and subjugation memos” — security notices issued by intelligence agencies targeting individuals under suspicion — without prior judicial authorization. Children Injured as Container Falls on Car at Batroun's Regie Intersection

On Tuesday, a container fell off a truck at the Regie intersection in Batroun, hitting a car carrying children to the Saint Famille School. 

Two children were injured, one of them in critical condition.
