A controversy has erupted within "Touch" following a decision by caretaker Minister of Telecommunications Johnny Corm to grant an advance equivalent to three months' salary, repayable after one year with zero interest.
The advance is designated for employees whose homes were damaged, provided they present a document from the mayor or municipal head.
A representative from Touch, A.Y. (who is affiliated with Amal Movement) was responsible for submitting the list of beneficiaries to Corm, who then approved it.
A legal source claims that the minister's action violates the law and aims to offer a "favor" to employees belonging to a specific political faction.
