Constitutional Council finalized today five appeals to overturn the results of May’s parliamentary elections.
The appeals are the following:
Paul Hamod against Elias El Khoury (Tripoli),
Mohamad Chafiq Mahmoud against Bilal Hocheimi (Zahle),
Ibrahim Azar against Said El Asmar and Charbel Massaad (Jezzine),
Mahfouz against Jamil Abboud (Tripoli),
Marwan Kheireddine against Firas Hamdan (Hasbaya, Marjeyoun).
“Speculations were improper. No one asked about any file, nor did someone exert any pressure on me,” said President of the Constitutional Council Judge Tannous Mechleb.
