A fuel tanker exploded on the Metn highway, Mount Lebanon, sending up massive black clouds of smoke and a strong diesel smell in the vicinity, Lebanon's Civil Defense confirmed in a tweet.

Members of the Civil Defense from multiple centers across the country reinforced with fire trucks are working to put out the fire, the Civil Defense added. Information on what started the fire or whether there were any injuries was not immediately provided.
