Gemayel Asks Berri to Postpone Government Questioning Session Over Bashir's Assassination Anniversary

Lebanese Kataeb Party leader and MP Samy Gemayel has asked Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to postpone a parliamentary session scheduled for September 14, saying the date coincides with the anniversary of the assassination of President Bashir Gemayel.

The parliamentary session is intended to question the government, allowing lawmakers to raise issues with the cabinet and seek explanations from ministers about government policies and decisions.

According to Voice of Lebanon radio, Gemayel raised the issue during a phone call with Berri and asked that the session be postponed out of respect for the anniversary.

In response to the Kataeb leader’s request, the schedule for parliament’s general session was subsequently changed from Monday and Tuesday to Tuesday and Wednesday.
