Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel welcomed the announcement of a 10-day ceasefire, describing it as an achievement for the Lebanese presidency and diplomacy, and saying it marks a turning point for the country’s sovereignty and decision-making.
“We congratulate His Excellency the President on achieving the ceasefire, and we salute Lebanese diplomacy for saving Lebanon from the war triggered by Hezbollah’s militia," Gemayel wrote in a post on X.
“Today marks the beginning of Lebanon reclaiming control over its decision-making and its future," he added.
