Gemayel Kicks Off Washington Visit with White House Talks

Lebanese Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel kicked off his visit to Washington, D.C. with a series of meetings at the White House, where discussions centered on Lebanon’s political crisis, state-building efforts, and the need to reinforce the country’s sovereignty.

Talks also highlighted the importance of continued U.S. support for the Lebanese Army, which Washington views as a key pillar of stability amid growing security and economic pressures.

Gemayel later addressed a wide audience of American officials, policy experts, and representatives of research institutions during an event hosted by former U.S. ambassador David Hale and the Middle East Institute. In his remarks, he laid out an overview of Lebanon’s political landscape and presented a detailed assessment of the challenges facing the country in the months ahead, including institutional paralysis and ongoing threats to state authority.

The Kataeb leader is accompanied by Marwan Abdallah, head of the party’s Foreign Affairs Department, and Zahi Abi Younes, director of the party’s Washington office.
