Gemayel Meets Independent Parliamentary Consultative Gathering MPs

Kataeb Party Leader MP Samy Gemayel met at the party’s headquarters in Bikfaya with members of the Independent Parliamentary Consultative Gathering parliamentary bloc, namely MPs Elias Bou Saab, Ibrahim Kanaan, Alain Aoun and Simon Abi Ramia.

Talks focused on the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.

Representing the Kataeb Party at the meeting were Kataeb MP Elias Hankach, Political Bureau Member Professor Alain Hakim, and Kataeb’s Head of Public Policy and Legislation Lara Saade.

Following the meeting, MP Simon Abi Ramia emphasized the urgency of electing a sovereign and reform-driven president capable of leading a comprehensive rescue effort to address Lebanon’s economic and security crises and restore domestic and international trust.

He highlighted the importance of moving beyond previous “patchwork” solutions and adopting a new reformist approach aligned with domestic and regional changes, particularly following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime.

Abi Ramia underscored Lebanon’s untapped potential, advocating for the selection of an inclusive president committed to fostering unity and maintaining dialogue with all factions.

He described the current phase as a historic opportunity to rebuild the country on national foundations, free from the entanglements of regional conflicts and narrow interests.

He concluded by calling for the adoption of a national discourse that does not exclude any political component, affirming that Lebanon’s interests must take precedence over outdated regional calculations.
