MP Elias Hankach expressed confidence that justice will be served in the investigation into the Beirut Port explosion, voicing hope that the truth will be uncovered.
“The world has changed, and those who once hid behind immunity are now facing a different era and altered circumstances,” Hankach said ahead a memorial mass at St. Joseph Church in Ashrafieh on the fifth anniversary of the disaster. “No one who tries to evade justice will be able to escape.”

Hankach also dismissed any suggestion of obstacles hindering the judicial process.
“There are no obstacles; rather, God is strengthening Judge Tarek Bitar, and the environment is protecting judges so they can work with conscience,” he said.
