Israeli air and artillery strikes continued across southern Lebanon on Monday, hitting multiple towns, paramedics, and infrastructure sites, as the conflict with Hezbollah persisted despite a fragile and increasingly strained ceasefire framework.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli warplanes struck a Civil Defense paramedic team affiliated with the “Islamic Health Authority” in the town of Toul while they were conducting rescue operations following an earlier airstrike in the same area. Two paramedics were wounded in the strike.
Earlier in the morning, an Israeli airstrike on the town of Aaba killed two people and injured five others, according to NNA.
Israeli warplanes also carried out repeated strikes on Kfar Reman twice within less than an hour, while Toul in the Nabatieh district was hit again during the same period. A separate strike also targeted Kfar Reman, and an Israeli drone struck the town of Haris in the Bint Jbeil district.
Earlier raids had already hit several other locations across southern Lebanon, including Yahmor al-Shqif, Kfar Tebnit, and Shoukin.
The air campaign was accompanied by intermittent Israeli artillery shelling on Yahmor Arnoun, Kfar Tebnit, Nabatieh al-Fawqa, and Mifadoun. Additional shelling later struck the town of Qalawiyah in the Bint Jbeil district, while Israeli forces also fired bursts of machine-gun fire toward the outskirts of Naqoura in the western sector at dawn.
Separately on Monday, the Israeli military issued evacuation warnings for residents of nine villages in southern Lebanon ahead of further airstrikes targeting what it described as Hezbollah positions. The villages named were Rihan, Jarjouaa, Kfar Reman, Nmairiyeh, Arab Salim, Jmaijmeh, Mashgharah, Qellaya, and Harouf. Residents were instructed to move at least one kilometer away from their homes.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah said its fighters targeted Israeli forces positioned inside a house in Baydar al-Faqani in the town of Taybeh using two attack drones, forcing Israeli troops to evacuate wounded personnel. The group said the operation was part of its ongoing response to Israeli strikes on Lebanese territory.
Hezbollah also claimed it had carried out 24 attacks on Israeli military positions, troops, and vehicles in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours. It said the operations targeted troop concentrations, Merkava tanks, D9 armored bulldozers, military equipment, and newly established command centers across border areas including Khiam, Deir Seryan, Tayr Harfa, Bayyada, Rashaf, and Naqoura.
According to the group, the attacks involved explosive drones, rocket fire, artillery shelling, and guided missiles, and resulted in what it described as “confirmed hits” on multiple targets. Hezbollah said the operations were carried out in response to Israeli violations of the ceasefire and continued strikes on civilians and villages in southern Lebanon.
On the Israeli side, air raid sirens sounded late Sunday in parts of the Upper Galilee for the second time within hours, following reports of drone infiltration from Lebanese territory, according to the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth. The Israeli military said its air force intercepted a “suspicious aerial target” launched from Lebanon, describing the incident as another violation of ceasefire understandings by Hezbollah.
