Israel Issues New Evacuation Orders as Strikes Continue Across Southern Lebanon

Israeli air and drone strikes across southern Lebanon killed and wounded dozens of people on Wednesday, according to Lebanese health authorities and local reports, as evacuation warnings expanded and violence intensified along multiple fronts.

The outlawed Hezbollah militia was reported to be continuing operations in southern Lebanon, while Israeli forces pressed ahead with sustained bombardment and demolition operations across the south.

The Israeli military issued urgent evacuation warnings to residents in several southern Lebanese towns and villages, including Arzi near Sidon, Mazraat Kouthariyet al-Riz, and Zrariyeh, instructing them to leave their homes immediately and move north of the Zahrani River. It warned that anyone remaining near Hezbollah fighters, infrastructure, or weapons systems was placing their life in immediate danger.

Separate evacuation orders were also issued for residents in Jebaa, Houmine al-Fawqa, and Arqay.

On the ground, two Lebanese Army soldiers were wounded when an Israeli drone struck a pickup truck on the Deir al-Zahrani road. The vehicle reportedly caught fire after the strike, which occurred near an army vehicle passing in the area, according to initial information.

In the early hours of the morning, around 5:30 a.m., Israeli forces carried out three successive powerful explosions in the Marjayoun plain area. The blasts followed a night of repeated detonations in Dibbin and surrounding zones. The explosions caused material damage to properties and shattered windows and storefronts in the nearby town of New Marjayoun due to the intensity of the shockwaves.

Separately, rescue worker Ali Salman Nader, a member of the Risala Health Ambulance Association in Arabsalim, was killed in a drone strike that hit the al-Ain neighborhood in his hometown. Another strike later targeted the al-Labana district of the same village.

A drone strike also hit a position belonging to the Health Authority in Arzoun, though no casualties were reported.

Elsewhere, a drone struck a vehicle on the Deir al-Zahrani road in the Nabatieh district, leaving one person wounded. Another overnight strike targeted a vehicle on the Siddiqin–Qana road, killing two people. A separate strike on a motorcycle in Tebnine killed two more individuals.

Further south, two people were killed when a motorcycle was targeted in Ain Baal. Another drone struck near a vehicle on the Siniq road without causing injuries. In a separate incident, a vehicle was hit in Khaldeh near the Furno intersection, killing two people. One of the victims was reportedly the same individual who had survived a previous strike in Siniq, according to local reports.

Israeli air operations continued throughout the morning and midday, striking a wide range of locations including Gandourieh, Frun, Hboush, Nabatiyeh, Adshit, Kfartebnit near a Lebanese Army position under the Ali al-Taher hill, Arzoun, Bazourieh, Maamoura, Blat, Siddiqin, and the vicinity of the “Rammal” cooperative in Marj Harouf, as well as areas near the Adshit Hussainiya.

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Operations Center said in a statement that five people were killed and 48 wounded in Israeli strikes carried out from midnight into Tuesday evening. The casualties included a doctor and medical staff at Tebnine Hospital, which also sustained damage.

The statement broke down the casualties as follows: in Burj al-Shamali, two people were killed, including a child, and 32 were wounded, including four Palestinians, one of them a girl. In Aaba, three people were killed and five wounded, including a woman and a Syrian national. In Tebnine, 11 people were wounded, including a doctor and five hospital employees.

The ministry said the strikes were part of an ongoing escalation and accused Israel of repeatedly targeting medical facilities and personnel, in violation of international humanitarian norms.

Earlier in the day, four Syrian nationals were killed in a drone strike on the al-Miyadin road in the Housh area. Separate strikes on the Maamoura–Housh road killed two Palestinians, while another strike on Siddiqin left additional wounded. Bazourieh was also hit twice in pre-dawn airstrikes, according to local reports.

After midnight, Israeli warplanes also struck Deir Qanoun Ras al-Ain in the Tyre district, while additional overnight raids were reported in Majdal Salam in the Marjayoun area.
