Israel Launches a Series of Airstrikes on Hezbollah Targets in Southern Lebanon

Israeli warplanes launched a series of intense airstrikes on multiple locations in southern Lebanon on Friday evening, local media reported.

According to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA), Israeli fighter jets carried out approximately 20 airstrikes in the Jezzine, Al-Zahrani, Bint Jbeil, and Tyre areas.

The Israeli military confirmed the strikes, stating that they targeted Hezbollah military sites used for storing weapons and rocket launchers.

“The weapons and rocket launchers in the military sites posed a threat to the State of Israel and constituted a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the Israeli army said in a statement.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said the Air Force had launched intense airstrikes to "eliminate immediate threats that Hezbollah attempted to carry out to breach the ceasefire."
