The Israeli military launched a wave of airstrikes across eastern Lebanon on Tuesday, hitting multiple locations in and around the Baalbek region, including the outskirts of Britel, Taria, and Khreibeh.
Two additional strikes targeted areas west of Baalbek, with one hitting the outskirts of the town of Shmustar and the other striking Wadi Umm Ali. The air raids were accompanied by intense low-altitude overflights by Israeli warplanes across Mount Lebanon, including Metn, Keserwan, Beirut, and its surrounding suburbs, according to local reports.
The Israeli army confirmed the strikes, saying they targeted infrastructure and personnel affiliated with Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force.
“Camps belonging to the Radwan Force were targeted,” an Israeli military spokesperson said. “Inside these compounds, we identified the presence of operatives and warehouses used for storing weaponry employed by Hezbollah.”
Defense Minister Israel Katz said the Israeli airstrikes are “a clear message to the Hezbollah terror organization, which is plotting to rebuild its capabilities for the invasion of Israel through the Radwan force, and also to the Lebanese government, which is responsible for upholding the agreement.”
“We will strike every terrorist and thwart any threat to the residents of the north and to the State of Israel, and we will respond with maximum force against any attempt by Hezbollah to rebuild,” he added.
