Israeli warplanes carried out more than three airstrikes on Thursday in the area between the towns of Tura, Abbasiyah, and Maarkeh in southern Lebanon, with the explosions reportedly heard across the region.
Ambulances rushed to the scene immediately, according to local sources.
The Israeli army confirmed the strikes, saying it targeted operatives from Hezbollah’s so-called construction unit in the Tyre area. The military said the operatives were gathered at a Hezbollah site used to “produce equipment for the organization’s terrorists to rebuild infrastructure destroyed in last year’s fighting.”
The Israeli military added that the activities of those targeted “constitute a violation of the ceasefire.”
