Israeli Army, Hezbollah Detail Extensive Operations During War

In the wake of a ceasefire agreement that went into effect this week, the Israeli army released a comprehensive report summarizing its military operations against Hezbollah over the past 14 months. The Israeli military said it targeted over 12,500 Hezbollah sites, including 1,600 command centers and 1,000 weapons depots.

According to the report, Israel’s ground offensive in southern Lebanon involved 14 brigade-level task forces and more than 100 special operations. The Israeli army claimed that 2,500 Hezbollah operatives were confirmed killed, though estimates place the number closer to 3,500. Among the casualties were senior Hezbollah figures, including its longtime leader, Hassan Nasrallah, and 13 members of the group’s top leadership.

The report also detailed other notable losses for Hezbollah, including four division-level commanders, 24 brigade commanders, 27 battalion commanders, 63 company commanders, and 22 platoon commanders. The Israeli army also reported seizing large quantities of weaponry and equipment, including 12,000 explosive devices and drones, 13,000 rockets and missile systems, and 121,000 pieces of communications equipment and computers.

HEZBOLLAH’S COUNTERACTIONS

Earlier this week, Hezbollah issued its own summary of actions over 72 days, claiming to have carried out 1,666 military operations, averaging 23 operations daily, from September 17 to November 27.

According to Hezbollah, these attacks resulted in more than 130 Israeli fatalities and over 1,250 injuries. Their actions included 540 bombardments on settlements, 420 strikes on military positions, 211 attacks on bases, and 147 operations against border posts.

Additionally, Hezbollah stated it thwarted 31 Israeli ground advances.

The group detailed its tactics, which included 1,285 rocket launches, 93 artillery strikes, 166 air raids, and 86 guided missile attacks. Other measures involved 34 air defense missions, 16 sniper and machine gun attacks, 11 engineering weapon strikes, and 11 direct combat operations. The broader impact of the conflict, as outlined by Hezbollah, includes the reported evacuation of more than 100 Israeli settlements, displacing an estimated 300,000 settlers. Hezbollah claimed these evacuations affected a 30-kilometer radius from the border, while the range of their strikes extended 150 kilometers into Israeli territory.
