The Israeli army confirmed the interception of a surveillance drone launched by Hezbollah from southern Lebanon towards Israel, marking the first such incident since the ceasefire agreement was brokered between the two sides.

In a statement, the Israeli military confirmed it had downed the drone, which had crossed the border before being intercepted. No sirens sounded amid the incident, “according to protocol,” the military said.

"The Israeli army will not allow Hezbollah to carry out terrorist activities from Lebanon and will take action to remove any threat to the State of Israel and its citizens," Israeli army's Arabic-speaking spokesman, Avichay Adraee, wrote on X. 

Israel's Channel 13 said the incident was the first since a ceasefire took effect on November 27, ending a full-scale conflict between Israel and Hezbollah that erupted in September 2024. 

Earlier, the Israeli military carried out an explosion operation in the southern town of Talousa, according to Lebanon's National News Agency. 

Additionally, Israeli forces set fire to a poultry farm near the village of Tal Nahas, located close to Deir Mimas, early in the morning.

The Israeli bombardment also continued, with artillery shelling targeting the outskirts of the town of Shebaa.
