The chief of the Israeli army's Northern Command, Major General Ori Gordin, has informed the mayors of displaced northern Israeli communities that efforts to rebuild towns damaged by Hezbollah’s attacks over the past 14 months can now begin.
In a meeting held on Friday, Gordin addressed local leaders from towns along Israel’s northern border, reassuring them that despite the ongoing security situation, work on restoration could move forward.
“The forces are deployed in southern Lebanon, and we are engaged in a determined enforcement of the agreement, to preserve the significant achievements we have reached,” Gordin stated, referring to the current ceasefire and security operations along the volatile border region.
He emphasized that the Israeli army’s operations are focused not only on maintaining the ceasefire agreement but also on reinforcing Israel's defenses in the area, noting that new army posts are being constructed to further bolster security along the frontier.
