An Israeli drone strike targeted a car in the town of Rashkananiyeh, in southern Lebanon’s Tyre district, killing a Hezbollah commander from the Radwan Force.

The Israeli military identified the targeted operative as Haidar Hashem, stating that he was responsible for the naval forces in Hezbollah's elite unit.

According to the Israeli military, Hashem was involved in efforts to smuggle arms to Hezbollah via the sea, as well as planning naval attacks on Israel and Israeli civilians, including during the ongoing ceasefire.

“Hashem’s activities posed a threat to the State of Israel and its citizens and were a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the military claimed.
