Israeli military vehicles advanced from the southern Lebanese town of Tiri toward the outskirts of Haddatha in the direction of Haris in the Bint Jbeil district, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported on Friday.

An Israeli force also moved toward the outskirts of Deir Mimas, reaching an intersection near a newly established Israeli military position, as military activity continued in the area.

The Lebanese Army sent reinforcements to the newly established position following the advance by Israeli forces, according to NNA. Israeli troops also threw stun grenades toward Lebanese soldiers stationed at the position on the outskirts of Deir Mimas, apparently in an attempt to push them away from the site, the agency reported.

Israeli artillery fire resumed in the morning, hitting the towns of Mansouri and Majdal Zoun after shelling intensified before and after midnight. The sound of the bombardment was heard in the city of Tyre and several other towns and villages across southern Lebanon.

Several artillery shells also landed in Wadi al-Azziyah on Friday morning, NNA reported.

Overnight, Israeli forces fired illumination flares over the towns of Haddatha and Aita al-Jabal in the Bint Jbeil district, according to the agency.
