Israeli Military Urges Southern Lebanon Civilians to Evacuate Amid Fighting with Hezbollah

The Israeli military has called on all civilians in southern Lebanon to move north of the Litani River, citing ongoing operations against Hezbollah.

“The actions of the Hezbollah terror organization compel the Israeli army to respond with force. We do not intend to harm civilians, but for your safety, you must evacuate your homes immediately. Anyone near Hezbollah operatives, facilities, or combat equipment is at serious risk,” said army spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee.

Adraee reiterated the warning, urging residents to relocate north of the Litani River without delay. He stressed that any movement southward could endanger lives.

Earlier, Lebanese state media reported that the Israeli military entered the town of Khiyam, approximately six kilometres (3.7 miles) from the Lebanon-Israel border.

“The town of Khiyam is experiencing continuous artillery shelling, while Israeli forces have penetrated the area,” the reports said.

A Lebanese military source told AFP that Israel had carried out a ground incursion into a border region in southern Lebanon, alongside ongoing airstrikes.

The Israeli military said its deeper deployment in southern Lebanon is part of an “enhanced forward defense posture” in response to attacks by Hezbollah.
