Justice Minister Meets French Delegation to Boost Cooperation and Anti-Corruption Efforts

Justice Minister Adel Nassar met on Wednesday with a high-level French judicial delegation to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ justice systems, with a focus on combating corruption and terrorism.

The delegation was led by Laureline Peyrefitte, Director of Criminal Affairs and Pardons at France’s Ministry of Justice, and included Jean-François Bohnert, France’s Financial Prosecutor, Olivier Christen, Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor, and several other senior judges. The meeting was attended by French Ambassador to Lebanon Hervé Magro, as well as Minister Nassar’s advisers, attorneys Lara Saade and Renee Sfeir.

Talks centered on enhancing judicial cooperation, sharing technical expertise, and supporting Lebanon’s judicial institutions in corruption and counterterrorism cases. The two sides also discussed ways to improve the performance of public prosecutors and strengthen the rule of law.
