Lebanese, Syrian Defense Ministers Meet in Jeddah to Address Border Issues

Lebanese and Syrian defense ministers met Thursday in Jeddah as part of a Saudi-brokered mediation effort to address rising border tensions and enhance security coordination between the two countries.

Lebanese Defense Minister Michel Menassa met with his Syrian counterpart, Murhaf Abu Qasra, under Saudi sponsorship. The meeting took place after a planned visit by Menassa to Damascus was postponed due to Syria’s ongoing government formation process.

According to Al Arabiya, the discussions centered on intelligence-sharing, border demarcation, and security cooperation amid recent cross-border skirmishes.
