Lebanese and Israeli representatives are set to hold a third round of talks in Washington next week, according to Lebanese media, as diplomatic efforts continue under US auspices.
According to LBCI, the discussions will take place at the United States Department of State over two consecutive days, either Wednesday and Thursday or Thursday and Friday.
The meetings are expected to bring together a Lebanese delegation including Ambassador Simon Karam, Lebanon’s ambassador to Washington Nada Hamadeh Mouawad, Deputy Chief of Mission Consul Wissam Boutros, as well as a representative of the Lebanese Armed Forces.
According to the report, Lebanon’s ambassador in Washington has been in ongoing coordination with the team of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during two meetings held on Monday and Tuesday, which focused on preparations for the upcoming round.
During those discussions, the ambassador submitted a file documenting what were described as Israeli violations and stressed the need to secure a ceasefire.
