The conflict in Lebanon entered a new day on Tuesday as Israeli warplanes and artillery launched a series of strikes across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, targeting towns, infrastructure, and sites reportedly used by Hezbollah.
Israeli aircraft carried out two airstrikes on Yahmor al-Shaqif and struck the area between Arnoun and Yahmor al-Shaqif, while artillery fire hit Arnoun and Eastern Zawtar. The outskirts of Wadi Jilo were also targeted, and helicopters fired missiles at the area between Al-Samaaiya, Deir Qanoun, and Ras al-Ain. Additional airstrikes hit Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district, along with the surrounding areas of Al-Hanniyeh, Qallaya, and Hadatha.
The town of Maarakeh endured repeated strikes, leaving one person injured and causing significant structural damage. Early morning raids also targeted uninhabited homes in Sultaniyya and Ain Baal. Following a midnight attack, three people were injured in Maarakeh, and emergency teams worked to clear debris from roads. Later, a strike on a residential building killed three and wounded several others, who were evacuated to hospitals in Tyre.
Overnight, attacks on Tayr Diba killed three and wounded two, while agricultural areas on the outskirts of Batouliyeh and the region between Bazouriyeh and Wadi Jilo were also hit. Al-Hanniyeh and Qallaya continued to face artillery fire, and reconnaissance planes were reported circling Tyre and surrounding areas. Sahmar experienced a heavy early morning airstrike, with additional raids reported in Jannata, Arab Salim, Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa, Deir al-Zahrani, Wadi al-Hajir, Al-Hanaweh, and Al-Jumajima.
Ali Badran, a first-rank officer in the Lebanese Parliament Police, was killed when his car was struck on the Deir al-Zahrani road. He was mourned by the Amal Movement.
From midnight into the early morning, Israeli aircraft conducted multiple raids across the Bint Jbeil district, targeting Safad al-Battikh, Shaqra, Burj Qalaouiyeh, and Tebnine. Burj Qalaouiyeh was struck twice within two hours, while Shaqra and Hadatha each endured two airstrikes by late morning, and artillery hit Safad al-Battikh and Braishit. In the Jezzine area, Sarira and Al-Qatrani were hit by more than ten raids, leaving nine wounded in Al-Qatrani. Low-flying aircraft continued to patrol the region.
Earlier at dawn, strikes hit eastern Tyre, including Al-Housh and Kfardounin, causing severe damage to buildings. Israeli artillery also shelled Wadi Zellaya in Western Bekaa. The Israeli military released footage showing strikes on a building and a mosque, claiming Hezbollah fighters and weapons were present.
The Israeli army also bombed a bridge over the Litani River, alleging it had been used by Hezbollah to move operatives, rockets, and weapons into southern Lebanon. This marks the seventh river crossing targeted by Israel in the ongoing conflict.
“The Israeli army struck another central crossing yesterday that was used by Hezbollah to move from north to south of the Litani River and transfer weapons, rockets, and launchers for attacks against Israeli troops,” the military said.
Israel has deployed a sixth division to southern Lebanon as part of an ongoing ground offensive. The 98th Division, an elite formation of paratroopers and commandos, has been conducting targeted operations on additional objectives in the south. Israeli forces have completed deployments along the so-called “anti-tank line,” several kilometers inside Lebanese territory, aimed at preventing Hezbollah from launching anti-tank guided missiles at northern Israeli communities.
Currently, five Israeli divisions are involved in ground operations against Hezbollah. The 146th and 162nd Divisions have advanced into the western sector, while the 91st and 36th have raided the eastern sector. The 210th “Bashan” Regional Division is stationed in the Mount Dov area and has conducted several raids on the Lebanese side of the mountain.
