In the 2023 World Happiness Report, Lebanon holds the 136th position out of 137 countries, with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) leading as the happiest nation in the Arab world and ranking 26th globally, followed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
The discrepancy in happiness rankings is attributed to the proactive efforts of top-ranking nations in prioritizing citizens' well-being. For instance, the UAE has a Minister of State for Happiness, while Saudi Arabia and Qatar focus on achieving their visions for social stability.
Despite Lebanon's lower ranking, initiatives in schools, private companies promoting mental well-being, and awareness campaigns contribute to addressing mental health challenges and fostering a positive outlook on mental well-being.
