UN Special Coordinator Calls for a Speedy Investigation into the Killing of Loqman Slim
UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jan Kubis on Thursday called for a speedy and transparent investigation into the killing of Lebanese activist Lokman Slim.
“I am greatly disturbed by the tragic loss of Lokman Slim, a respected activist and journalist, a honest independent voice of courage,” Kubis wrote on Twitter.
“I request the authorities to investigate this tragedy in a speedy and transparent way and draw the necessary consequences,” he said.
"This investigation must not follow the pattern of the Beirut port blast investigation that 6 months on remains inconclusive and without accountability. People must know the truth," he added.
