I Lost My Brother in the Beirut Port Explosion. Where Is the Justice?
The people of Lebanon are marking five years since the Beirut port explosion of August 4, 2020 – a blast that has been described as one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history. The detonation pulverised the port, ruined vast sections of the city and was felt as far away as Cyprus. Souaid Deems Defending Hezbollah as a National Betrayal
Former lawmaker Fares Souaid on Friday deemed the defense of Hezbollah as a national betrayal, stressing that it is not a Lebanese party.
“What happened today in Southern Lebanon and Hezbollah claiming responsibility affirms that Hezbollah is not a Lebanese party and defending it is a national betrayal,” Souaid tweeted.
