I Lost My Brother in the Beirut Port Explosion. Where Is the Justice?
The people of Lebanon are marking five years since the Beirut port explosion of August 4, 2020 – a blast that has been described as one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history. The detonation pulverised the port, ruined vast sections of the city and was felt as far away as Cyprus. Ministry of Finance's $300 Bonus: Potential Catalyst for Public Sector Unrest
Informed sources told "Al-Markazia" that the Ministry of Finance is preparing to grant its employees and some employees of other administrations a monthly sum of $300 and deprive the rest of the public sector.
The sources pointed out that if implemented, this measure would generate significant resentment and push everyone towards strict adherence to the open strike called by the public sector in protest against discriminatory policies.
