Lebanon’s Ministry of Justice issued a stern warning to all citizens, declaring that any breaches of public security, especially celebratory gunfire, will be met with the harshest legal consequences.

In a statement, the ministry stressed that the safety and lives of Lebanese citizens are a “red line” that must not be crossed. The Justice Minister has instructed the Public Prosecution Office to take a zero-tolerance approach toward anyone who fires guns irresponsibly. Authorities have also been ordered to rigorously pursue anyone who attempts to interfere, mediate, or apply pressure to protect perpetrators of such acts.

“These criminal acts reflect a complete disregard for responsibility and humanity, showing blatant indifference to the lives of Lebanese men and women,” the ministry said.

To ensure broad public awareness, the ministry called on all media outlets to widely disseminate the statement and regularly remind citizens of the serious consequences of violating security laws and endangering public security.
