I Lost My Brother in the Beirut Port Explosion. Where Is the Justice?
The people of Lebanon are marking five years since the Beirut port explosion of August 4, 2020 – a blast that has been described as one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history. The detonation pulverised the port, ruined vast sections of the city and was felt as far away as Cyprus. It also claimed the lives of more than 220 people, injured more than 7,000 more and left more than 300,000 homeless.

France Records Highest-Ever Temperature
France on Friday registered its highest-ever temperature, with 45.1 degrees Celsius having been recorded in Villevieille, a village in the southern department of Gard near Montpellier, state weather forecaster Meteo-France announced.
The temperature beat the previous record of 44.1 degrees Celsius that was recorded in Saint-Christol-les-Ales and Conqueyrac in August 2003.
According to Meteo-France, the new record makes France the seventh European country to have recorded a temperature that surpasses 45 degrees Celsius, along with Bulgaria, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Greece and North Macedonia.
