Lebanon's Radio One Shuts Down After 37 Years
The management did not release any statement so far.
Several figures mourned the loss of Radio One such as TV show host and journalist Zaven Kouyoumdjian who wrote on Twitter: “Today, I lost my best car radio friend”; and talk show host Rima Njeim said that the station had managed to stay open through wars but succumbed to the “worst crisis”.
Radio One, one of Lebanon’s oldest FM stations, was founded in 1983 by Raymond Gaspar as CEO and Roger Gaspar as program director. It survived wars, crises, and conflicts, playing international music around the clock, 7 days a week.
