Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdellatif Derian on Tuesday warned against the presidential vacuum, urging the lawmakers to speed up the election of a new president of the republic.
"Neither the nation nor citizens can bear the void that is detrimental to all the components of the state," said Derian.

"Dialogue and rising above quotas and narrow interests is key to reach a solution that rescues Lebanon from the collapse," he stressed.
His remarks came during contacts he held today with the Muftis in all the Lebanese regions.
