President Joseph Aoun met on Tuesday with Minister of Justice Adel Nassar and Higher Judicial Council President, Judge Suheil Abboud, to discuss efforts to revitalize the judiciary and ensure its independence. 

The talks focused on mechanisms to strengthen and activate the judicial system amid ongoing challenges facing Lebanon’s institutions. The officials underscored the importance of safeguarding judicial independence as a cornerstone of governance and accountability.

Lebanon’s judiciary has long been marred by political interference and institutional inefficiencies, with calls mounting for reforms to restore public confidence in the legal system.
