Report: Israel Asks Lebanon to Deploy Troops to Block Hezbollah From Joining Iran War

Israel has asked the Lebanese government to deploy troops and establish roadblocks in areas where Hezbollah operatives live to prevent the group from joining any renewed war with Iran, Israel's Kan public broadcaster reported, citing a security source.

The request was conveyed to Beirut through U.S. mediators, according to the report, which said Jerusalem had warned that fighting in Lebanon would resume if Hezbollah launched attacks against Israel.

The reported demand comes amid growing concerns that a renewed confrontation between Israel and Iran could draw Lebanon into another conflict, with Hezbollah potentially opening a front against Israel.
