This was not the first time a Lebanese official had visited the White House and received support. But it was the first time that a president with the will and capacity to ensure Lebanon’s sovereignty had visited the White House. Salam Says 49,000 Tons of Wheat to Enter Lebanon this Week
Caretaker Economy Minister Amin Salam announced on Wednesday that 49,000 tons of wheat would enter the country at the end of this week.
“We should not see queues (outside bread bakeries) after that. We will pursue those who want to create a crisis,” Salam said in an interview with MTV.
“There is a crisis cell led by the Economy Ministry with the aim of distributing wheat and flour in a fair manner, and what we are witnessing today is the repercussions of what happened last month,” he added, hoping that wheat ships would arrive in the country in a faster way.
