In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Salam shared details of his direct communication with the Minister of Interior, emphasizing his active involvement in overseeing the elections to ensure their smooth conduct. He praised the prompt action taken by security forces to maintain order at polling stations, ensuring that violations were swiftly dealt with.
“We will not tolerate the recurrence of these transgressions, whether today in the north, or in the upcoming elections in Beirut, the Bekaa, or the south,” Salam wrote, reaffirming his government’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the elections.
As the day drew to a close, Salam made a final appeal to voters in the north, urging them to participate in the elections.
