Lawmaker Salim Sayegh warned on Monday that Lebanon is running out of time to restore State authority, accusing certain political actors of undermining national sovereignty.

“The window is short to reclaim the State, and every day we are losing more ground to the arena others want to impose on us,” Sayegh told Voice of Lebanon radio.

He said the Lebanese people were united in rejecting what he described as a dangerous encroachment on the State.

The Kataeb MP also highlighted public frustration over frozen bank deposits and the broader collapse of living conditions since the country’s 2019 financial meltdown.

“People share the same concerns over recovering their stolen deposits, and their right to return to their country with dignity,” he said.
