Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that Spain will deploy an aid package worth 10.6 billion euros ($11.5 billion) to help regions recover from its deadliest floods in a generation.

The measures are part of an "immediate reconstruction and recovery plan" for the devastated eastern Valencia region and represent "a good first step", Sanchez told a news conference
