David Beckham is set to become the face of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, which will see him earn a fortune in the process.
He'll also become the ambassador for Qatar over the next ten years in a deal that will see him earn over 175 million euros.
This historic World Cup, which will take place for the first time during the European wintertime, will also see some other faces such as Xavi Hernandez, Samuel Eto'o, Cafu, Ronald de Boer and Tim Cahill join Beckham in promoting the tournament.
Beckham's job will go beyond the World Cup as he'll be tasked with promoting tourism and culture in the country.
In Qatar they're well aware of how well the Beckham brand can sell, and for that reason they've placed all their faith in the English star.
Qatar has been vehemently criticised recently for violations of human rights laws, in particular regarding their treatment of women and homosexuals.
For this reason, Beckham has asked for assurances over the safety of fans and that they allow the display of pride banners in stadiums during the tournament.
