Syrian Embassy in Beirut Marks the End of Dark Era, Calls for National Rebirth

The Syrian Arab Republic’s Embassy in Beirut has issued a statement declaring the dawn of a new era for Syria, one in which the country becomes the final homeland for all its citizens, both within Syria and in the diaspora. The statement highlighted that Syria has overcome a challenging period marked by injustice, suffering, corruption, and marginalization, which had left its national institutions weakened and its people in despair.

The embassy described a time when a corrupt system controlled the nation’s resources for its own narrow interests, leaving the Syrian people trapped in a deadlock.

"This difficult phase, during which the corrupt regime drained the state's resources and undermined its institutions, has now come to an end," the statement said.

The embassy hailed the success of the revolution as a symbol of hope for the Syrian people, bringing an end to an era of destruction, corruption, disinformation, and empty slogans. It criticized the previous regime for stripping Syria of its national talent and civil life. This period, the statement noted, was one of hardship for all Syrians, regardless of their backgrounds.

Looking ahead, the embassy called on all Syrians to stand together in support of their country and the revolution, to move toward a new future. This new phase, the statement emphasized, requires the country to fully invest its resources and competencies through state institutions, aiming to build a national state based on fraternity, love, and justice. The embassy envisioned a Syria governed by the rule of law and freedom, capable of rising to join the ranks of the world's most advanced nations.
