The statement highlighted the critical importance of maintaining stability in Lebanon and reducing tensions along the Blue Line, a demarcation line between Lebanon and Israel.
"Both countries call on all parties to exert maximum restraint and responsibility consistent with UNSCR 1701. This reflects the shared view that restraint and adherence to international resolutions are essential for regional peace," it said.
The embassy further stressed the urgency of ending Lebanon's 18-month presidential vacancy.
"France and the United States underline the urgency to bring an end to Lebanon’s presidential vacuum and to proceed without further delay with the election of a president, the formation of a government, and the implementation of necessary reforms," the statement read.
"This call to action underscores the need for political stability and economic reform to lay the foundation for Lebanon's recovery and sustainable inclusive growth," it added.
